OVERVIEW
Our nursing degrees reflect the latest in local and international academic standards for nursing. At Southern College you will gain the theoretical and clinical skills necessary to prepare and develop you as a professional nurse. You will benefit from highly qualified nursing faculty with real-world experience. Our nursing faculty are leaders in the profession.
We combine theory with hands-on application. You will study in modern spacious classrooms with full access to our E-Library and onsite simulated clinical facilities. Our E-Library (EbscoHost) allows you 24 hour access to our research database and library system.
Our nursing programme at Southern College meets local and international standards. We provide you with a wide range of tools and support in order to assist you with meeting your professional goals.

Graduates of Southern College Bachelor of Science Degreein Nursing are qualified to sit The Bahamas Nursing Council Registered Nurse (RN) License.

The nursing profession requires an extremely high level of intelligence, professionalism, discipline and communication skills. Your request for admission can be rejected at any stage along the admissions process. This is to prepare you for the level of professionalism we require you demonstrate at all times while you are in the nursing programme and more importantly, when you enter the profession.

This is a further indication of your preparedness and suitability for the nursing profession. As a nurse you will have to pay attention to the most minute of details. Show us you have that ability by complying with all documentation requirements and deadlines.
We will not accept incomplete documents or partial application packages.
Your application kit will outline all documents required according to which admission option you are applying under.
Admission to the nursing programme at Southern College is very selective. We seek to admit applicants who demonstrate a high level of professionalism, effective communication skills, and intellect. These are just as important to us (if not, more important) than your academic grades alone. We require you to know how to present yourself in a positive light. We require you to display the positive qualities and characteristics associated with the nursing profession.
An interview date and time will be scheduled for you once your application package has been received and reviewed. You will be given guidelines as to how to dress and prepare for the interview.
You will have an initial interview by the Office of Admissions with a separate more official interview by our Nursing Panel for Admissions.
