HOW TO PREPARE A RESEARCH PAPER USING APA FORMAT

1. Watch APA Tutorial Video on the E-Library page.  A link is also located at the top of this page.
2. Watch the Tutorial Videos on using EBSCO HOST E-Library system.
3. Log into the E-Library system to complete your research using a selection of the academic journals and other scholarly information provided on the topic of your choice.
4. Log into the E-Books system to use any addtional books you require for your research.
5. Gather your notes and thoughts together.  Ensure you properly understand and answer the question/research paper you were given.
6. Click on the APA Template link(s) below and select the template that you are most comfortable with and that meets the requirements of your assignment.
7. Read the content of the template(s) to ensure you understand and follow the instructions given.  Comply with all instructions.
8. Read & review the Sample APA Paper provided below.  This gives you a complete look of how a properly prepared APA paper should be written.
9. Pay attention to grammar, spelling, sentence structure and all writing skills.
10. Read, re-read, and re-write your paper until it is at an excellent standard.
11. DO NOT PLAIGARISE.  You will be subject to disciplinary action including grade/assignment failure, course failure and/or being expelled from the college.
12. Always check with your professor, Academic Affairs or Student Services for further guidance.  Good luck with your assignment.
